Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Mobilizing Against Sanctuary Cities Act''. SEC. 2. SANCTUARY CITIES INELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. (a) Identification.--The Attorney General shall annually identify each State or local jurisdiction that-- (1) is not in compliance with section 642 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (8 U.S.C. 1373) and shall report such determinations to Congress on March 1 of each year; or (2) does not comply with a request lawfully made by the Department of Homeland Security under section 236 or 287 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1226 and 1357) to comply with a detainer for, or notify about the release of, an individual. (b) Ineligibility for Funding.--Any jurisdiction that is found to be out of compliance shall be
