Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Secure Firearm Storage and Suicide Prevention Act of 2026''. SEC. 2. FINDINGS. Congress finds the following: (1) Unintentional injuries and suicides related to firearms are significant causes death among children and teenagers. (2) According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-- (A) the annual rate of suicide by firearm in the United States increased approximately 11 percent from 2019 to 2022, with provisional data suggesting that 2024 may have had the highest rate of gun suicide since at least 1968; (B) nearly 60 percent of all gun-relate
