An Act To Amend Section 41-23-1, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Authorize And Direct The State Board Of Health To Promulgate Regulations Requiring Licensed Physicians To Conduct A Pre-surgical Blood Alcohol Test On All Patients As A Standard Protocol, To Provide That The Patient Must Give Written Consent To The Blood Alcohol Test, To Provide That The Test Results Shall Be Confidential Pursuant To Federal Hippa Regulations, To Require Documented Training Of Medical Staff To Diagnose And Treat Symptoms Of Alcohol Delirium Tremens (dts) Of Post-surgical Patients And The Use Of Necessary Medications For Detoxification At The Medical Facility; And For Related Purposes.
