Hodge was the leader of the Gangster Disciple gang within the Prison, which trafficked in drugs. Stucker was a member of the Aryan Brotherhood gang. Stucker owed a large drug debt to Hodge. At some point, Hodge struck Stucker across the face during a confrontation about the debt.
