Schaefer told the dispatcher where the victim’s body was located, he described the handgun he used to shoot the victim, and he explained where he had left the weapon at the crime scene. Schaefer stated that he did not know the man and that he “randomly did it” and “shot him” because “you know, you get thirsty and then you just do it.” State’s Exhibit 2 at 3:42-3:45, 5:23-5:25.
