In 2016, Hendrickson designated Ball as the beneficiary of the policy. All parties agree that at the time of this original designation, Hendrickson wanted Ball, his decades-long administrative assistant, to use the funds to “pay off a line of credit with Old National Bank[,] and [Ball] would keep the balance, $250,000, as her retirement benefit.” Appellant’s App. Vol.
