While Simmons was sitting in his vehicle, Wilson and his girlfriend Yashika Clowers arrived. When Wilson got out of his car, Simmons called out to him. Wilson and Simmons spoke through the open window of Simmons’s vehicle before Wilson pulled something out of his pocket, leaned through the open window, and grabbed for something in Simmons’s car.
