The matter was set for trial. At a pretrial hearing on August 9, the State informed the trial court that the parties had discussed Singleton “potential[ly]” waiving his right to a jury trial. Supp. Tr. Vol. II at 7. The trial court told the parties that “if [it] receive[d] a waiver of jury trial,” the trial court would “address that.” Id.
