Akamai, a company located in New Mexico, was developing a “laser that could
detect chemicals” in such a way that it could detect “what molecules belonged
to” drugs, people, and firearms. (Tr. Vol. 2 at 7). Blaine is the Chief Legal
Officer of both Akamai and Porrima, which is a subsidiary of Akamai. Akamai
filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2020.
