Statement of the Case
A jury found Devin Franklin (“Franklin”) guilty but mentally ill of Level 1
felony attempted murder1 and guilty of Class A misdemeanor resisting law
enforcement.2 On appeal, Franklin argues that: (1) the trial court abused its
discretion in admitting certain evidence; (2) the trial court abused its discretion
in instructing the jury; and (3) his sentence is inappropriate.
