Alford drove his vehicle off the roadway and the front passenger side of his vehicle collided with a light post. After hitting the post, Alford’s vehicle slid across the roadway and came to a rest facing west in the east bound lane. A nearby homeowner called 911, and Officer Harold Yost of the Mishawaka Police Department responded to the dispatch.
