To that end, it enacted Indiana Code section 7.1-5-12-4, which states, in relevant part: (a) Except as provided in section 5[ 2] of this chapter, smoking is prohibited in the following: (1) A public place. 1 We held oral argument in this case on January 10, 2023, in the Court of Appeals Courtroom at the Indiana Statehouse.
