Amber Koester, Yates’s girlfriend, drove Yates from the apartment she and Yates shared to a house on Reed Street in Fort Wayne where the trade was to take place. Koester sat in the driver’s seat. Yates sat in the front passenger seat with a backpack containing the two guns he intended to trade and seventy-one grams of marijuana.
