On October 2, 2023, a Pike County Sheriff’s Office deputy received a report of
possible child molestation from the Indiana Department of Child Services
(DCS). An employee of the Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center
Coalition (Child Advocacy Center) interviewed C.W. who reported being
molested by her uncle, later identified as McCandless.
