On February 5, 2023, Merrill was pulled over by a police officer after he
completed a turn without using a turn signal. An adult female passenger and a
three-year-old child were in the vehicle with Merrill. The officer detected the
odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Both adults were detained while
police searched the vehicle.
