Meridian Street. The officers collected over fifty 9mm fired cartridge casings at the scene and unfired 9mm bullets. The victims died from multiple gunshot wounds and were later identified as Michael James, Abdullah Mubarak, and Joseph Thomas. After interviewing friends and relatives of the victims, IMPD began to focus its investigation on Smith.
