State of Indiana ── Case No.: 23A-CR-02632 Court: Indiana Court of Appeals Date: March 27, 2024 Author: Judge Paul Mathias County of Origin: Washington Category: Criminal Decision: Affirmed Judge Tavitas and Judge Weissmann concur On December 19, 2022, Coats entered into an open plea agreement with the State in which Coats agreed to plead guilty to Level 6 felony unlawful possession of a syringe, Level 6 felony operating a vehicle with a controlled substance or its metabolite in the blood, Class A misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated, Class A misdemeanor cruelty to an animal, and being a habitual offender. That same day, the trial court held a guilty plea hearing and advised Coats of his rights. Coats then established the factual bases for his convictions.
