On June 14, 2023, Gilman filed a grievance with the DOC and alleged that numerous items were stolen from his MHU 2 left-side jail cell on June 8. Some of Gilman’s stolen property was not recovered. The person who stole the items put a towel over his head so he could not be identified on the security cameras.
