K.B.’s symptoms have included paranoid delusions, auditory hallucinations, disorganized thoughts and behaviors, “ups and downs” in mood, and poor self-care. Tr. Vol. 2, pp. 17-18. Around late 2024, K.B. told his mother, who lived in Florida at the time, that he was going to stop taking medication for his mental health because he was “no longer . . . schizophrenic,” and, thus, “he no longer need[ed] medication.” Id. at 9.
