Reno shot Johnson in his head twice, once in the back of his head and once near the back of his right ear. Johnson died immediately. Reno took Johnson’s money, marijuana, and a handgun and left the apartment. Johnson’s eight- and six-year-old children were present in the apartment during the shooting.
