Theresa Palmer was working the cash register during the robbery. Bates walked behind the counter, told Palmer that the store was being robbed, and warned that Bates had a knife. Bates then placed “a fairly long, probably around six- to eight-inch knife” to the back of Palmer’s neck, demanded that Palmer open the cash register, and fled with the cash register’s contents. 1 Tr.
