Commissioners 7-28-2026 [1:54-6:54]

I don't know. My pride was in the plaintiff's meetings. I put in a few pages to the client of the United States of America and to the Republic of which he stands one nation under God in the visible with liberty and justice for all. Come on, folks, we call the July 28th meeting of Commissioner Storber. First on the agenda day is the approval of the minutes for the July 14th meeting. Move to approve. Second. Have a motion. All in favor, say aye. Aye. Next, we go down to the approval of claims. Move to approve as presented. Second. Have a motion. All in favor, say aye. Aye. Next is the approval of payroom. Move to approve. Second. Have a motion. All in favor, say aye. Aye. Next up, we have Miss Amy Borings today. Thank you for allowing me to speak. I just need to say a couple things about a recent insurance move. I don't expect to reply. And I realize that nothing I say will change anything. It just needs to be said. Because sometimes not saying something makes everyone think that everyone was okay. I don't have a right to speak for anyone else in this county except the girls in my office. So I come before you for them. We understand the insurance cost went up. We understand that you as commissioners were crunched for time to find a new insurance option. You did. Well, you chose Obamacare. I'm not sure if that counts. But you did. I say Obamacare kind of means that you walk into the grocery store and purchase a watermelon. But there's no price tag on their Y because it depends on your income. So when you go to pay for the watermelon, you show them your pay stub and then they'll tell you how much that watermelon cost. But understanding you were crunched for time, I understand. The announcement to switch at the meeting took me by surprise. The ladies immediately went to work to find a plan that fit their need and that they get aboard. Now we'll wait. We'll wait and see what happens. I have encouraged them to write down the good and the bad so that you guys have an idea of what they're living with. This morning we get more emails that there's more issues that we're still having to deal with with dental and I, things that may not be covered that we thought were. I think what I'm asking you as commissioners for my employees is don't consider this finished business. Don't say this is a done deal. I'm going to ask that you look at this as a band aid. Maybe to hold us over, it does something better and keep looking until you find something better to represent or to give to each of these employees. I can only imagine the stress of your job. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes and I don't think any of them want to be either. But knowing that you're looking for the best option for each of these employees is all that we can ask of you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. Next, we're going to skip over Dave Smith's thing today and revisit that in a later day. Next up is Brian Sathers. It's pretty short for me today. We are finishing Stump Hill Bridge today and for Paving and we'll move to West Power Line tomorrow and Thursday, Boone Hall and Stores Boulevard are both open. We got some Paving on the approaches to do on Boone Hall, which I'm trying to get scheduled for Thursday and Friday, but we should be, it's still dry because it's a small bump when

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
