Commissioners Special 6-22-2026 [0:00-3:28]

All right, you know, I'll stand with me. We'll do the plays in the ladies and boys stargazers. How do you want to be introduced to the five of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all? The purpose of this special meeting today is to consider a health care proposal for our county employees. This plan kind of represents a new approach to what we've traditionally done. It's done through a vehicle called an ICRA, which allows us to participate in federal insurance and the county subsidizes the premium just like we were with the traditional insurance that we had. So anyway, this, it gives them a lot better flexibility as far as they can sort of choose their own plan in large part. The baseline plan that we have chosen to base what the contribution from the county is. It is a PPO plan, $1500 deductible, bigger network than we currently have. It's very, very similar in all aspects to what we currently have. And so, that's the thing that we're going to talk about here today to propose to accept to do that. The current plan that we were on, the cost very near doubled. And it was just unsustainable for anybody. And this vehicle, and the reason that we're able to get this other plan similar cheaper as this analogy would be, our small group, if you drop a bowling ball in a bathtub, you know how big a wave it makes, because we had several high claimants. Well, now we're going to drop this bowling ball into Lake Monroe. So the high claimants is not going to affect our premium like it did when we had to individually, you know, have health certifications to get the catapult. And nobody can be denied. They are all, they are all are eligible. And so that's where it works. So that's what we've got proposed today. Mr. J. W. Fans, we're back here in the form from J. Ben Affentz. He's the representative for this company. Is there anything that I miss, J. W., you think it needs to be spoke? Thank you, J. W., God. Happy New Year, your question. Okay. So I have a question. So with the policy that we have now and what are... Can you go to the microphone please? And push the button in the middle so it'll come on. Okay. So my question is, I'm married, my spouse works through the Sheriff's Department, but if somebody else is married and they have a job that offers their insurance, are they allowed to pick it up with the Lawrence County, or do they have to have their separate insurance? Are you asking about a spouse or a car out? That's what I think it is, yes. J. W., can you go to the microphone also? Yes.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
