Commissioners 5-19-26 [46:09-51:09]

I was aware of the guarantee by the tip. Does I understand this is a back at it that the county will be on tax with these funds in the event the tip district doesn't perform properly. Is that accurate? That is correct. Projected tip revenues are providing about 200% that service coverage. So we're pretty comfortable with what we've got established for the finances. It's allowed us to shorten the length of the bond to about 8 years. And we were able to achieve an interest rate of 5.13%, which is actually less than the federal government is getting on their tax dimpt bonds of 30 years at this point. So it was a very good, very good bond issuance for Lawrence County. Is there anyone else have any questions or concerns? Well, no concern. And it's not your problem, but I wish we had the original resolution to review. And we don't have. But we're in a position right now where we basically already guaranteed this, whether or not we'd like all the wording in it. But we are the executive office for the county. So we have to make that decision. So that's my comment. Somebody else can comment as well. You have anything to say, Walter? Yeah, I move to approve it. And I'll second it. All right, motion on floor. All in favor, say aye. Aye. All opposed. I wasn't a party to the original ratification. And I think I will say nay on this, but the motion still carries two more. Thank you all very much. I appreciate that. And we will do our best to carry on with successful redevelopment commission activities. Thank you. All right. Now we have got some appraises on some county surplus properties. One of them is 92416th Street, 90th Hill Street in here. And a parcel on sunny acres drive. I would like to accept those appraises today and hang them under advisement till we determine what we're going to do with anything with those. Take a motion to that effect if somebody is willing. I move to approve. Second. Motion on floor. All in favor, say aye. Aye. Aye. Motion carries. Okay. Next. I'm Mr. Sanders. Good morning. And early June, Starr's Boulevard will be getting a deck overlay on the bridge over there, on the high school. Why I'm bringing that up? Because on Highway 58, between Shellswick Station Road and Starr's Boulevard, end up. And we'll also be doing a bridge deck overlay. So there's plenty of ways to get around. Just, well, I'll post it out when I know for the fact that they aren't going to close those roads down. But, yeah. So. Their thought was the same as ours. Try to get it done with schools out. So. How long will you anticipate that taking? Two months. 75 days. These are the numbers I'm getting. So. I should be at total closure, too. Yeah. Not a one lane. Not a one lane closure. We'll shut down Starr's Boulevard. So you have plenty of ways to get around there. And if they've got summer school, I'm not sure if they still do summer school or not. They can come in the back lane. No, but I'll tell you the one thing that really concerns me. And it happens every time we do anything out there. Drug traffic to Central Foundry. If they're using your GPS. It takes some stars. The best thing that they do is take Starr's Boulevard. The worst thing they do is go ahead and straight across. They get off of the star station and go straight. And then they end up after housing conditions. Driving to people's yards. And I don't know how to stop it. We've got signs. You have no trucks and all that. It's not a good situation. Now, unfortunately, we do need to get the bridge deck open. I've done so. Yeah. Get it all prepared. Back to traffic. Also since school is about to be out this week, we're going to start paving. I'm just waiting for the schedule from the EMB in milestone. Once I get that, I'll let her by no what we'll be paving. We are currently chipping and sealing. It's not raining. We don't close the roads down for that. We'll do one lane. So traffic can't get through.
