Commissioners 5-19-26 [31:54-35:44]

So if we were to approve this, our initial payment to them, I've already got covered. And that'll give us until the end of the year. And then when the budget year comes back around, I'll work with the accounts when trying to get something figured out on that. I'm optimistic that we'll get something figured out. I mean, after eight years, I know we can get something to make work. Or I wouldn't be up here pitching it at this point. I mean, if it was $100,000 a year, I'd be like, yeah. I need to kiss all the rings before I do this. So my question is, again, I didn't state it properly. If this were approved and you were to enter into the contract with them, your initial payment would be... The $9,000. The $9,000. You're not paying after that. And we have the funding right now, extra, and they can't that would cover that. And this year, so I bought an investigator car. I think it's just coming up on the fourth year, so this will be our last annual payment on that. And that is $9,000 a year. So I know I'll at least have that, because we've worked against this budget. And anytime there's additional funds, so we get a big drug dealer when we wind up season money, which happens in over a couple of years, then that money can go and pay for that. If we go back and look at my last eight years, there would be enough money to pay for a few years of that. It need to be powdered. Thank goodness that's slowed down quite a bit. So that's, that's getting far between. So the money as far as not a taxpayer money, we'd have to come out of the infraction of rural and the pre-trial deferment. And the thing that I can guarantee right now is that we can at least get you a little over 50%. And then have to figure out the remainder of it. Well, having spent two days in the J-Rack meeting this week and understanding some of the complicated issues you deal with and some of that discussion actually involved the transfer of information from your office to public defenders and private. I spend 80% of my day dealing with those problems. It's not really what my position ought to be doing. So I'm going to go out on the limb and make a motion that we approve of the contractual agreement for the 10-year period and with the understanding that if his office can come up with the first six months, seven, actually, be seven months cost that we will obligate ourselves to the rest of it. So we're looking at the... You're looking at providing the first six months? Yes, I already have the funds secured for that. And we're looking at 50,000 for our parts. Well, for the next nine years then. I'm sorry, nothing next nine years. My only question is, where do we get our 50,000? Are we waiting on opioid to come through? I think you're waiting on either the Council approving an increase in our budget or opioid funds. If, in fact, all of this has to come out of the commissioners. Well, I don't believe so. I don't believe it comes out of your budget. I'm only here to history. He's coming back. Yeah, it'll have to be figured out in my budget. I know you guys like to sign contracts. I'm up here kissing the ring so it's pretty distilled. You really want to sign a piece of paper. I don't even know what you're doing.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
