Commissioners 5-19-26 [17:47-22:50]

So if you can imagine, Sheriff's Department has one platform. The current process is now that I pay somebody to download that video from whatever platform ties up our internet and the county, usually takes a couple hours per case. And you know, you get a good night. We've got a 10 or S. So you can imagine that I've got three people on my staff that are tied up and downloading all the information. What's that information is downloaded? I think converting to our server, how we want to manage it and know that it's there. Then once the defense attorney enters any of the parents, then I have to upload that and it takes the exact seven by the time. So now I'm tying up the computer again. What this computer system does is that we'll have the, I guess the major box that it belongs to. And there will be a link that the officer clicks on that officer is now loading into that one link. When I get a defense attorney, I hit chair and knowing that, you know, it takes me two seconds. The now the defense attorney downloads it in stores or does whatever the storage capacity on this is unlimited. That they don't cap you off any kind of mouse. They don't increase the price. And currently they have more storage than Amazon. But it's combined. The state of Indiana uses Amazon for almost everything with the storage clock. So it's a pretty good statement that they have that the additional thing that don't let us say this is any time there's a new item that's added. So say you take this working on a childless case and those cases are all going in after we charge them three months from now. They've got a supplemental report that comes in with a massive amount of information that we hardly ever see that. But now it's going to pull up that case. There's going to be a little red indicator if they're supposed to say something's new. So now I disclose that and I don't have to worry about losing that trial on down the room. Additionally, a problem that we've had over the last eight years with the amount of trials that we do is every one of these body cameras is a different platform. The state police has the catalog. They've got hacks up, which is what this company is. The sheriff's departments got a massive problem right now because all their stuff is like dying and outdated. And it's going to cost I think they told me like 150,000 to be competitive. But getting all those replaced and they don't have money for it. So they've got some obscure stuff that was awesome when it was bought. But it's as technology changes. It's it's not anymore. Bedford's got another one. It's got another one. Mitchell's got another one. So you've got all these different platforms that we have to figure out where we go to jury trial. Obviously a video doesn't get played in its entirety of those chances. So you've got to figure out how to redact that. How to order stuff out and how to line all that up. That is a nightmare every time that I go into to try with that. And then additionally, if there's some really neat AI tools that make our jobs easier. Search for stuff so we can go in and type things that we're looking for. Morano writes right. They don't take you right to it. So it saves a lot of time on the attorneys as well. So with all that being said, I got in front of you two contracts and for your consideration. And normally I don't like signing anything that's over four years because I don't know whether or not I was going to be here the next term and so on and so forth. However, in this situation, data isn't going to get any cheaper. It's only going to get more expensive as we go along. So I wanted to throw the option out there of an additional five years because it locks the processing on data. So whoever's secured 10 years from now, the decision that I make now would obviously save them a lot of money. So the first company gets the five year contract. I'm wanting to start this June. And I have enough money to get a kick started and pay for the remainder of the year. Then we're going to have to work it into the budget cycle for the following four years. But, excuse me, the 2027 budget. It's 17,000 year after the discount for this program. And then the fall on year 17, then 18, 19, 19. So a total commitment on that, including the remainder of this year would be 101,000 from the office. Now if you flip over to the year 10, you'll see the pricing doesn't go up substantially. If you look at that page too, it starts off at 17,000 and ends at 24,000. So the, I guess the wiser decision at this point know what we know right now about data. Actually, some kind of huge breakthrough. That storage is going to stay forever. So, you know, in an event, like I said, a county attack, we're in a cloud where they have a team of people that have nothing but cyber security. We're always working on that. And we're going to be able to save all that data for 10 years and not have to worry about running out of space.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
