Council 04-28-2026 [1:09-6:09]

I think I've got one more. I think. Okay. About there. Okay. That's his 430 by Wallace clock. If you please stand for the prayer, we'll have Julie Hudson lead us into prayer and remain standing for the pledge which will be led by Jeff Lindner. This last resort, I'm afraid. Okay. Please bow your hands. God, we, we thank you so much. We are so blessed to live in America. We are blessed to live in the state of Indiana where we can enjoy beautiful spring weather and just this lifestyle that we live in. We are so appreciative of it. And we hope that tonight that you are with us as we listen and we make sound decisions and we do the best that we feel when we're making decisions that are right according to how we think. And we just ask that you can be with us. Take everyone home safely. That's in your name we pray. Amen. Thank you. Thank you. I pledge allegiance to the fly of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you. Thank you. Well, welcome everybody to the April 28th meetings. And the first thing we have on the agenda is approval of the minutes. We're going to do these two separate minutes on March 13th on the special meeting. I'm sure everybody's ready. Make a motion to approve the minutes from the special meeting held on March 13th of 26th. I got a first from Haman. A second. Got a second from Dustin. Any questions on this one? I'll make a motion. Please say aye. Aye. Opposed. The second one is March 24th on the regular meeting. Move to approve the March 24th regular meeting minutes as presented. Dustin made the first on that one. I'll second. Larry made the second on that one. Any questions on this? All in favor, motion, please say aye. Aye. Okay. Those are passed, Martha. Thank you. And then Amy Voorhees. Let's do the election update. Good evening. Good evening. Elections are going slow. The second matter worked in the office. I'm not even convinced there's still busy in the office. So far we have received 406. I mean, is your mic on? No. You're not. You're the one that's not on the clock. There was a button, there were only one air we go. Now we got her. Thank you. Election report. So far, we have had 643 votes that includes absentee mail-in, walk-ins, travel board, and one and one BPD that's been returned to us. So yes, very slow. Wanna remind people that we have early voting through Friday, eight to four. Saturday, we're open at the voter registration office and at the Mitchell Community Center, eight 30 to 330. And then Monday, you have from eight to 12 to vote early. After that, we'll close down and then election day will be Tuesday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. So we do have all of the workers that we need. Our machines are already for election day, looking forward to a smooth day. So they wouldn't have any questions. Any company, will you have the front and the back of the courthouse open or just the front? It will only be the south side of the courthouse will be open. And that is due to the elevator access. Seven locations, same as every other year, last few years. The other thing I was here to talk about was policy change. That was due to how we pay the election workers. We're still ironing out a few details with the State Board of Accounts. So I will not bring that before you at this time. Once we do that, then I will come in and ask. Right now, they're having to watch all the videos and as if they were a new hire to the county and they're not, so we're trying to work that out. Because I know you and I talked about that. That was on the part time side of that, right? Was that?

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
