11-25-2025 Council Regular Meeting [61:24-63:50]

You can see what the county contribution is very different very small because basically that 100% funded matters and just what we're paying out every year you can see what we're paying out and survivor benefits and what we're paying out and disability typo benefit payments so very very little activity here generally it's the result of something that you don't really expect. So it's an actuarial calculation that McCready and keen performs every year and they obviously look at they look at the future benefit payment stream if everyone were to retire right now. What would that look like including those that are currently in retirement so the age of the current force matters the payroll of the current force matters because the calculation is a percentage of what they're. Again it's an actuarial calculation and they walk that back to a present value and say here's what we recommend the county pay and you have a minimum payment you have a full payment and then there isn't accelerated payment and so there's multiple things within that valuation report that dictate what you should be paying. You know I mentioned earlier the county that's underwater wasn't making any of those so they are now at the state level reporting more than once a year. So it is it's performed it's a calculation by your actuary which is McCready and keen out of indie and they follow state statute on what the benefit payment structure is you know each county plan can have a different. Retirement age they can have a different they can have different components but again the y'all go back everything goes back to the state statute that covers. Yes sir yeah there is there isn't actually a report that's provided every year it usually comes out in the first or second quarter of the year but it's based on prior your payroll it's based on you know number of people never if someone dies that is to the good because there's less outflow so all those things matter.
