11-25-2025 Council Regular Meeting [46:19-51:22]

Excuse me? Excuse me. All right. Start off with this quick empty. I really all have, I'll give you the geo population. 70 total inmates. 55 were male. 15 females. 8. They were holding for DOC. One parole hold with no local charges. And then we have two level six felons that were sentenced to serve their time here locally. Okay. And then you've got two in here? Correct. Yes, I have two additional. Which one you want first? I mean, this might be me. I have the firearms fund. One, one, five, six. Okay. This is a request for $10,400 from that fund. That's kind of a self-generated fund. That money's in there. And as I told you at the last meeting, we transitioned to new firearms and things like that. This is, we'll finish paying for that. This is $10,400, which is basically like the trade-in. The money we got for our old guns. So we received that money. It's just ready now to pay for the new guns. So we took it in on October the 14th from American Arms. And now we just need to put it in the firearms purchase line, I think $44202, so that we can pay that last bill. So this one is for $10,400? Yes, sir. Any questions for the sheriff on this? I'm hearing men except motion on this one? Janie, his first, Jeff's second. Any further questions? All in favor, the motion please say aye. Aye. Opposed? Okay, that one is passed, right? Okay. And the next one is the Sheriff Dr. C here fund, $4904. Again, this is a fund that is, we receive that money anytime. There's an actual civil forfeiture during an investigation or whatever. And forfeiture of money that was seized or things like that takes place. And a court ends up ordering that money be dispersed in certain ways after the court is over. And so in this case, we kind of created, had to work with Martha to create a line for attorney services. Basically, the county has contracts with the forfeiture attorney. It's been doing it, I guess, for years in Terho. And so, basically, when the money comes to us to the sheriff's department and goes into this fund, we have to send that money to the attorney that has worked in the court system doing all the forfeiture stuff. We send the full amount that has been court ordered to that person, to that attorney. It's Gamble's law office over in Terho actually, who does it? And then he then follows the court order and disperses that like in this case. So it's $2,000 came to us that was seized from a drug investigation. We get somewhere around 600 of that was what the court ordered. Some goes to the prosecutor's drug seizure asset fund to be used for drug investigations. Some goes to the common school fund, whatever that is, in the county. And then what's that? Okay. And then the attorney obviously gets his share of the contract. So basically, the court ordered that money. I think it actually was a state police investigation that we assisted with. So that money has been sent to us. Now we just, I need it appropriated into the line so I can send it to the attorney and he can disperse it as the court is ordered to be done. Okay. And this one is for $2,000 correct? Yes. Okay. Any questions for the sheriff on this one? Okay. Then we'll entertain a motion on this one. Motion. Second. Motion to approve. Second. Julie Spurge, 90 second on the motion. Any questions or comments? I'll vote with motion. Please say aye. Opposed? Okay. Great. That one passed. Okay. So that's all I have there on the additional transfer side of things. The last thing I have, whether you guys know it or not, the law changed in July in this last legislative session.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
