11-18-2025 Commissioners [1:51-6:51]

Okay, if you'll all rise, join me in the pledge belief. I pledge my duties to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you and welcome to the November 18th meeting of Lawrence County Commissioners. It's 9.30 a.m., I want to announce that we are live streaming this meeting and we'll move on to the next item on the agenda, which is approval of minutes for November 4th, the 2025 regular meeting. Do I have a motion to approve? I'll make a motion to approve. I have a motion. Second. Second. We further discussion. All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. And the motion carries. Number three, item number three is approval of claims. Move to approve this. I have a motion. I'll second that. Second. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. And those, that motion carries. Item number four is approval payroll. I'll make a motion to approve the payroll. We have a motion. Second. And a second. Further discussion. All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. And the motion carries. Item number five. Pointments. And I don't think there's anything to cover into that area. Item number six is items for considerations. And first on the agenda is Brian Souter. Good morning. So on the first road, adoptions for consideration. There's a new housing mission off of Washington Road up there called Blackwell Lane. It's currently a private road. The residents have paid a company to come do a core sample. And it does meet county specs for the core sample. So I have all the information right here. If you'd like to see it, I'll keep it in my record down the highway department. Could you like to consider adopting that as I rode for the highway? Okay. Do I have a motion to approve the adoption? Item to approve. Motion. Second. All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. And the motion carries. The additional one's maple running states off sea boat query road. As I'm doing the in dot inventory for asset management, which are roads, grab roads and stuff. Notice that we have been working in that as states for several years now. And it's never been officially adopted. When I come and look through the archives, we had talked about it since probably the 90s. Several times with ever went to adoption, however, the highway act does pile the roads up there. And we do repair anything that's broke. So in order to get our inventory to get paid for from Indiana, we want to consider adopting it. Okay. Everyone understand the adoption. I will state that there are hard, extenuating circumstances to us making this adoption. It should not normally be considered, but they are there. So I would entertain a motion to adopt those areas. I'd move to approve. I have a motion. Second. And a second. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. And the motion carries. All righty. I'll just go right back on my report since I'm up here for you. Okay with that. I'm ready. All right. So we were doing some checking. We had some deterioration in the wall on the Stumpel bridge road. The bridge over White River. Well, we're going to knock off the battery of concrete and just cap it off. But once we got into the wall, it's just bad concrete or something. So it'll probably take us a couple of weeks. We got to pick up some wall forms for that to form it correctly. So we'll have, we're just letting the public know to be cautious. We'll probably put some concrete blocks along the edge of the bridge until we get the wall fixed. So we'll make sure it's marked correctly and all that stuff for safety. As far as a highway department right now, we are preparing for a favorite season of the year, which we are stockpiling salt and sand and finishing up some road culverts. So that's a, that's pretty much a pretty slow time of the year for us. But okay with that. That's all I have today. Any questions for Brian?
