11-04-2025 Commissioners [4:05-9:18]

Thank you. Thank you. Okay, if you all rise, join me in the pledge allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation and regard indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Thank you. So I start off with I'm going to pass around the sign and cheat if everybody would just sign in. It just means that you were here at the public hearing. So if you would, please do that. I'm not playing on my phone, I promise. Today is November 4th, 2025 at 9.30 a.m., we are in the Lawrence County Commissioner's room. Can everyone hear me okay? This meeting was advertised in compliance with Indiana Code IC 5-3-1. The meeting was advertised in the Bedford Times mail on October 25th, 2025. The purpose of this meeting is to provide citizens the opportunity to express their views on community development and housing needs. And the proposed project which consists of providing CDBG OOR funds in the form of a grant to lower moderate income homeowners living within the unincorporated limits of Lawrence County, not cities and towns. Assistance is based upon household size and income. The project would benefit approximately 21 homes in the unincorporated limits of Lawrence County. Eligible work items include roofs, HVAC, electrical upgrades, water heater and or accessibility into the house. Radon mitigation will also be eligible if it is deemed necessary. The grant amount requested is $500,000. The county will provide matching funds in the amount of $89,509 towards the project. The matching funds will be provided by the Southern Indiana Development Commission Housing Preservation Grant in the amount of $88,459. And Lawrence County funds in the amount of $1,050. No displacement will occur as a result of this project. The project will also target the elderly, disabled veterans and single parent households. Are there any comments, questions or concerns regarding the program? Anyone? Okay. There being no comments, questions or concerns, I will close the public hearing at 933. Okay. That's that. Thank you, Jane. Thank you. Maybe I should have said this before it closed to me. That's okay. The one commissioner, and I think my fellow commissioners agree that this is a tremendous opportunity for a number of households in Lawrence County to receive assistance. And it's grant money that we absolutely want to take advantage of while we can. Yes, please. And please, everyone, sign that as it's going around so that Jenny has that. It also would be who evolve us to be supportive of this program in ways that get back to the to Okra who is the administrator of the state funding that's coming through.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
