10-28-2025 Council Regular Meeting [58:48-63:48]

On the table of motion. Please say aye. Opposed? Okay. Great. I will say just real quick on that one. Like every time there is a sale, three hundred dollars is coming in. So this additional money is going to that equipment line. But the money is coming in. More money is coming into us than what we're paying out for each sale anyway. Which is that. Okay. And the last one is Fund 4104 which is the share of donation fund. And that's in the amount of 11,020 dollars. And this is money that Hoosier Uplands awarded us to purchase new AED batteries and pads for all of our officers having them carry them in their cars. And then we have some in the jail and whatnot. So they granted us this money to pay for all those. So it went into the share of donation fund. I just need to put it into the equipment line in the share of donation fund. So we can make that thing out for the things and questions. For Greg Ohmsman. Second motion on this one. Question to prove. Okay. Okay. I mean film. Any questions on this one? All in favor. Motion please say aye. Aye. Opposed? I'll try to strike that one. Yes. Okay. Sure. Last one. Correct. I have hiring request. Hiring request? Yeah. But I mean on the... Oh yeah, that's last edition. I'm sorry. Yeah. Okay. And then you have a hiring request. Yes. Okay. Two. I'm requesting to permission to hire two jail officers. We recently parted ways with two jail officers in the last few weeks at my request. And so these are not new positions. We're just replacing current ones. These positions are already in the budget for next year. It's nothing new. I have actually had one person who we interviewed during the last process. So we have somebody ready to hire for one of them. And then the other one. That's the one I'm going to move my receptionist. If you remember at the budget time, I'm moving my receptionist to that one because she's taken over the SVOR and those duties as well. So she'll be filling that position. So if you approve of them, I have both issues. The first one is with new hire from outside of the county? Yes. Yeah. So that would come in on the lower scale? Yeah. They would come in at the basic scale. Yes. And then by moving that receptionist over, I mean, yes, she'll be at a higher scale. But then there's no more payment going to the receptionist too. That's going on with that. And then that would just leave me with one jail opening left. And you guys have already gave me permission to hire that. But that is he's still on FMLA for another few weeks. So I can't fill that spot until he's officially off the books there. So your request is one to two jailers? The two jailers, yeah. Two jail officers. Okay. Okay. I have 10 motion on this one. I'll make a motion. Okay. Fill first, shiny seconds. Any questions on the motions? I'll play with motion. Please say aye. Aye. Opposed? Okay. Correct. They're both approved. Okay. Thank you. I'm not asking for anything. It feels like that's all we ever do in here. But I just did want to give you a quick update on a new program. A new partnership that we're starting with the South Central Region 8 workforce board. They have a grant to provide a reentry program to eligible incarcerated individuals prior to their release. And then continuing their services after release. And this will kick off in January. It's implementing what they call LEAP. It's a Lincoln employment activities pre-release. And the goal is to break the cycle of recidivism by linking participants to the workforce system early before they're actually released. And that should cut down the amount of time between the time they get out before they have meaningful employment to where they can contribute to the society. And it will be for incarcerated individuals who we know will be released between 30 and 270 days. From the time that they request to go into the program. And then the only other requirement is that they plan on residing in warrants or one of the surrounding counties. Up on the release. And the program will have like some skill building workshops. Teach them how to and help them do resumes. We'll give them. Teach them how to interview. Skills to interview. Give them mock interviews. Some career counseling. Work-based learning. Labor market information. And then partner service referrals. Support services.
