10-28-2025 Council Regular Meeting [48:45-53:48]

Where am I seeing you receiving from the city, though? 50. Well, the question is... You say you're going to lose 80? No, that's... 80 is what we're getting this time. There may be zero going forward. We don't know what that looks like. This doesn't change anything. Right, that's what I'm saying. The idea here is, if we can go out... I send in RFPs twice a week, three times a week, that we're getting businesses that are approaching the state that want to locate in this area. And so we bid on those things, whether it's through the shell building or other things. If we get one, and it brings in $20,000, and you get $10,000 of it, and we get $10,000 of it. I mean, to your point, the things that are already on the books, and we appreciate that, that's great. That's keeping us funded right now and into next year. But I've got to think long-term, as these companies think long-term, when Stewart Rairden decides to add a line of machinery, he's thinking long-term. And the county's benefit is, if we can get Stewart Rairden to do that, at some point in time, that machinery ends up on the tax rolls. And the property ends up on the tax rolls. The idea is to build the tax base, and that's what we do. You have to have a lot of tools, and a toolbox, to get a company to do that. But that's our role, and that's the service that we provide. One thing I got questioned on is, and you made this statement there a minute ago, that this is a default. If this passes, this is a default, unless the Abatement Committee suggests something different to the council. So that's what happened in the fire protection. So it's my understanding, if any committee done fire protection, we're not doing 10, we'll give you five, that has to be 100% to REC. And that's a take it or leave. If you don't go for that, it's done. If the default is that, like the standard statement, they came, they weren't going to change your tenure, whether it's personal property or real property, that's what it would be. That's what Powell was put in in the 2000s. So it just passes, then, it would be, but 100% of the Abatement Committee, which there's not on the table, we already see. But if the Abatement Committee comes back in and says we're not going to do that, or we're not going to suggest that, we're going to suggest 75 or 25 or whatever. That's up to the date. That's up to the date. Yeah, at the end of the day, every abatement that comes in will have a scheduled recommendation and it'll have a recommendation of a split between the three entities. I guess BUEA doesn't, isn't part of it anymore, but the breakdown will be on each one of them. But the default currently is 50-50, and obviously that's where we would like to see that default stay. So I think, and this is not to, not that I'm not grateful for what RDC has done, but we don't have anything on the books coming up. Just, to me, I think we leave it be. And there's nothing that says we can't consider this again a year from now. Six months from now. Well, and there's nothing to say that we can't make the same decision on the next debate. Yeah, you currently have an agreement of 50-50, and FiberTech was put in it 100 on a five-year. You still have the flexibility to change it if you don't like what's proposed to her point that it's just the default. Like I said, the current resolution that you have, you were still able to do 100% at five years and not do the standard. So I mean, it's not that you're losing the ability to make a change. So it really doesn't need a resolution to do business as we want it to be. That would be her call. I mean, if we leave the default at 50-50. I mean, if we just present the 2019 dash in and just have no nothing on the book about the actual little run. You do that. Do you take it as each recommendation? You can do that, too. So I guess everybody's best off of this. Right as you do. It's going to be Jenny and I. Do it. I want it. So do you want a motion on table and this? You want to do it motion on doing nothing on this? I make a motion that we approve resolution 25, 225-10. I've got a first to accept this resolution 25-10 from Jeff and a second from Scott. Any questions or comments on the motion? I'll play your motion. Please say aye. Aye. Opposed? May. Do you have three notes? Maybe. I have Jenny and I have to know what you. I've got three yeses. Give it a try. I'm going to go yes. To accept.
