10-28-2025 Council Regular Meeting [0:00-5:02]

So I have ordinance 205-05, which is the reductions that the different office holders came forth and gave back to the county for the 2025 budget. I will say I have an additional one next month because there's a few that did not get advertised that have given up more money. So we will have that one also next month, but for now we'd like I'd like to ask council to approve ordinance 205-05, and the reductions are in the amount of $699,000 for $75,64. Make the motion to approve. Okay, I've got a motion to approve on that one. That's Scott's second. Any further questions on this one? Now the other one, there was a little bit left on that we'll go to November's meeting. It's around I think $10,000, maybe 11,000 more that we'll have, but we'll do a separate ordinance for that. But we'll go ahead and start working on making the reductions now on these so that we get them in there. And that way it just helps people at the end of the year to see what they have left in their budget to spend that they need to spend. So the one from Public Defender is not on here. Right, right, that one got, it was on the backside of a paper and it didn't get seen. So it's one that will also be on the one for next one. And I think I have more money that I can let go of in my deputies and my postage account. That was for about $10,000. About another $10,000, maybe $11,000, yes. Anybody that, you know, all of a sudden, you know, oh, I have this extra that I can give back. They can give a hold of us because we'll have to advertise it the first of November. So we have a few days for that. Further questions for Margaret on this. I've got a first and second on this point 25-05. The second thing I have for you all is you did define one of my positions out of county general. And I found out that we have a fund called Platt Book. And when you do anything with the deed, transfer, we collect money for that. And in talking to Jackie Clements and in talking to the two ladies from State Board of Accounts this past week at my conference, I can pay that salary out of my Platt Book fund. And I would like to ask that you all allow me to keep Carrie Barford, who is the deputy that that position was defended. She's very important to our office. She handles every aspect of deeds, whether it's homesteads, taking applications for homestead, taking them off, going through the death notices. She's a very important part of the office and I would just ask that you allow me to fund that position through Platt Book. How long could you fund the position? Right now I could probably do three years of it. And it doesn't mean that I can't do it indefinitely because we collect money every single day for that fund. Every day that they do deeds that they do transfers, we collect $8,000 fee. Right now I'm sitting with about $200,000 in that fund. What else did that fund be useful? It can only be used for things that are in regards to the Platt Book. So because the majority of her time is spent on those Platt Books and on the deeds, I can pay for that out of there. I pay for the supplies out of there. I moved the MVP contract out of my county general budget into that budget also. Any further questions for Marker? Okay. I have a question. Because it sounds so familiar. Did we have somebody else come back and want to do this? So. Is that what you're thinking? Recorder. Yeah, the report has turned to death. These are taken out of her perpetuation fund which is being driven for every time they report and pay so much. And so this time she'll come back in November. Yes, she asked you to have a date and then she'll ask that you approve that so she will continue her debt. Also Amy Boer, he's moved to her position in a half out of county general into her cloaks perpetuation fund. Also. Okay, so whatever kind of expenses would you have out of Platt Book? Well, like I said, I mean my MVP costs to Platt Book.
