06/03/2025 Commissioners Meeting [9:35-13:40]

Mae gyfrannu yng Nghymru gydraethau fel enwyd yn yng Nghymru gael. Rydych chi wedi'r Llewodraethau fel digelodio, rydym ni'n gwaithio yng Nghymru gael, yn eithio gael yr ffordd o mhagio yng ngayoddraethau gael symau gemweddeid yng Nghymru gael yna'n gymegiau. a $1,000,000 in settlements, including settlements from those illegal and annoying robocolors. But again, please report them. So don't give any of your numbers out. Don't give out your social security number, your birthday, your phone number. Just don't give your numbers out if you're not sure. But do you take as much information from them as you can to help us stop them? And with regard to emails that may be fraudulent, I understand those come in sometimes more often than the emails that we want to receive. So when you're receiving those, you can spam them, block them, put them to your spam folder. And if they're fraud seeking information from you, don't give any of your numbers out. Just keep all your numbers to yourself, unless you're confident in the place to which you're releasing them. So verify the source, don't ever respond. If you receive an email that you owe to fee in Texas. If you haven't been to Texas, chances are good. That's really not for you. And if you have, verify the source, don't do not just reply and release your information. Make sure you are checking those emails when you have time to really process them. Anytime that you're feeling rushed, it's probably not a good time to release any information at all. Another scam that we didn't talk about, but we see a lot of are those scams that pull in your heartstrings. They're hurry up. We need this right away to save the day, whatever that saving the day looks like in your situation. So, robocolors and fraudulent emails. One other thing that we do in the office of Attorney General's, we handle unclaimed property. And you guys may have checked Indiana unclaimed before or heard of it. And it doesn't mean just physical property, it's assets, unclaimed assets. And I encourage everyone to check Weaver United Newshers with over $1,000,000 each week in unclaimed properties. My 19-year-old daughter had $95 on Indiana unclaimed. And at 19, so if she's got $95, it's probably worth your five minutes or less to enter your name and address and see if you have anything on Indiana unclaimed. I have cards that you can scan a QR code and go straight to that site or just read the site. There's an 800 member to call a website to go to and then on the backside of the card, it gives you step-by-step how to look for unclaimed property. So, I will share this with anyone who would like to have them before I leave today. And if you have any questions about anything that we do at the Office of Attorney General or for the Attorney General, things that we can partner with you in your county, please let me know. That's what I'm here for. I will also have move office hours today in your library from 1130 to 130. So, if you don't have a chance to, that we can speak after this meeting, I'll be there for a couple of hours today. So, thank you very much for your time. I appreciate the opportunity to be here.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
