05/20/2025 Commissioners Meeting [21:48-26:50]

we do support groups, we do community education, awareness events, just lots of different things, and everything we do is free to our residents. It's somewhat startling. It is startling, yeah. It's actually really much more startling, the production in the United States are 7 million people living with dementia, the projection is up to 14 million by 2050, and that's made that far away. So really, of course, there's a cure for Alzheimer's or dementia, but we are learning a lot about prevention, a whole lot. There's been in the last 25 to 20 years, literally the last five years, a huge push and research on prevention, and we also as a organization, we're spreading that message to about brain health and about lifestyle interventions, so it is startling. Okay. So we have a request, do I would entertain a motion to approve the request? I'm curious about how all this, what kind of program is it, what kind of a time frame is it? It's a very long journey, and we have to have at least 50% of the employees that have gone through training to be considered dementia-free. It can offer at various times to accommodate our people's schedules, it's not going to be a room in training, everybody has to come. It's just to make it work for everybody. I think it's just important that employees are old, with knowledge, and have some confidence in being able to recognize these symptoms. So an entertainer motion. I do approve the request. I have a motion. I'll stick it down a second. I appreciate that. Any further discussion? All right. A motion carries. It's a good look. Can I have a little bit of information? You can look at it at your motion. And also my business card, if you want to consider it. Thank you. Just about everything we listed there is what we call a platformer. Thank you very much. Okay. Next is Priscilla Terrell from the Lawrence County Health Department. Hello. Hello. Priscilla Terrell with the Lawrence County Health Department. I'm one of the Environmental Health Specialists. I oversee the food, pool, and tattoo aspects of the environmental side. I'm here today to ask for the approval of the new food code that rolled out April 16th of this year. Right now it's just educational discussion. So when I go in to do my inspections, I just educate the top 26 changes that we've had. With that being said, I oversee 187 retail food that's brick and mortars, 38 mobiles. That's a retail that they renew every year, commit they renew every year, 14 pools, and then 18 tattoo establishments, two of those now which are microbladers. I have 12 plan reviews out. A Taco Bell, Wal-Walz Cases, in Mitchell, new construction for Sunco, and then the Wremont Feeling Station. And one mobile plan review and then five individual plan reviews. And that's for commercial kitchens on their property. So what I've asked today is that you guys approve the model ordinance that the state sent to our office. And all really idea was plug in our county name. Our temporary, they'll stay three business days prior to the event. We kept the right fee. And if they don't permit, then I just ask them to leave at the day of, because I don't want to carry around or be responsible for cash on hand. Since we have not had an opportunity to review this ordinance until today, I'm going to ask the question of Dave. He's a sit. She has. I'll send it out on the seven. Okay. But that's not to say that. But you mentioned that it is, it is the state form. Yes. The only thing you've done is included our ordinance county. Yes, absolutely. In the ordinance. So that's all correct. Do you feel it, we're okay? I've looked through it. I don't have any additions, changes, deletions, or amendments to make. Okay. So then, without any other questions, I would entertain a motion to approve. I'm assuming this is where they have a part of the last meeting in the past.

{# E23 (Nick, ruling section 1 answer 10): quoting a bill or a court opinion works the way quoting a news article works. Select a passage above and the same panel opens: the passage goes to the official you choose, with this document's own address as its source and its own type. #}
