SB 1528 - This act permits advanced practice registered nurses and physician assistants to perform admission physical examinations for individuals being admitting or readmitted into assisted living facilities or residential care facilities. This provision is identical to a provision in SCS/HB 2591 (2026). Additionally, nurse licensing laws shall not prohibit the administration of subcutaneous injectable medications by a technician, nurses' aide, or their equivalent, provided the medications are prescribed by a physician for a long-term care resident. This provision is identical to a provision in the truly agreed to and finally passed HCS/SS#2/SB 1233 (2026) and SCS/HB 2591 (2026) and substantially similar to provisions in the truly agreed to and finally passed SS/SCS/HCS/HB 2372 (2026) and SS/SCS/SB 841 (2026).
