Four Feathers Playoffs Ep. 2: Blackhawks Advance to Round 2 [0:00-3:42]

The train is coming in. We're in the back of the point, and drive by zero. Let's go! Let's go! Hey, hey! Slow down! Hey, hey! Slow down! Hey, hey! Slow down! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Hey, hey! Thank you. I said come on, don't be so nervous. And we're too late. Welcome back to Four Brothers with Jim Kress. I am your host Jim Kress Jr. The Chicago Blackhawks, your Chicago Blackhawks just defeated the Nashville Predators 4-3 in Game 6 and advanced to Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Chicago Blackhawks will face off against the Minnesota Wild who defeated the St. Louis Blues in Game 6 today. The Chicago Blackhawks will get home ice for a series that will start later this week. Now let's move on to our 4 Feathers. Let's start us off with the Green Feather. I've got 2 Green Feathers to hand out this week. They're going to Jonathan Tays and Patrick Kane. Patrick Kane has scored 7 points with 2 goals and 5 assists in his 6 games and Jonathan Tays in his 6 games has 8 points with 3 goals and 5 assists. The two have stepped up big time this week and have helped Catapult the Blackhawks into the second round. My yellow feather of caution is going to the defense. Now it has taken two separate goalie changes to get this defense back on track to where they need to be. And this series went on much longer than it should have been. Blackhawks went down to an early 3-0 in game 1 and went down to an early 3-1 deficit. In game 6, of course, both times the Blackhawks came through, but it shouldn't take a goalie switch to get the defense back on the right track. My red feather could very easily go to Chris Verstee this week. Now he hasn't been playing very great, but the Blackhawks advanced and you know what? I think it's time to poke fun at a team that didn't. The St. Louis Blues. They're getting my red feather because that organization has been run into the ground. They can't make it out of the first round for the third year in a row and you've got a feeling that's right, a feeling that this team is getting blown up. The orange feather of statistical oddity as well, it's a bit of a doozy. See in a series like this with Nashville, the last time that Patrick Sharp, Jonathan Tays, Patrick Kane and Duncan Keith all scored in the same game in one playoff series was back in 2010 during game 6. Also, this is the first time in NHL history that two different goalies have come into relief and won a game in the same series. Something else I found a little bit odd was that the starting goalie was removed after three goals in the first period on 12 shots. The backup comes in and doesn't give a single goal. Duncan Keith then has the game winning goal to make the score four to three. Game 1 and game 6 were awfully similar. That's all I've got for you this week folks. Tune in next week for a bit of a shortened episode because the black box will only play one game before next week's episode. But don't miss out on any action.
