Richard E. Grant and Claire Foy on Celebrity Traitors UK Season 2, Savage House [10:55-13:26]
comedy and tragedy at the same time. And I think that that's what Peter has done in his script. Claire, I do have an individual for you. I'm a big fan of Danny Boyle and I saw some footage from Inc. at Cinemacon and it looks great, but you know, Danny just does such great work. You sort of talk about what that project is about and who you play because while I respect Rupert Murdoch a little bit for his business, but I fucking hate that man. So what was that? You're fucking Asian. I'll say it loud. I mean, I despise that man. You know what I'm saying? I think it's really interesting. I think what I've seen the film and I think it's incredible and it's about the beginning of the Sun newspaper in the UK, which is one of the biggest tabloids and the Sun sort of ushered in a new way of a new route towards the news, which is something that we see today, which is that it's entertainment as opposed to education. Just like the National Inquire. Yeah, very factual. But I feel like what's really interesting about it is that Rupert Murdoch, you know, I don't know the man, but that we know him as he is now and Guy Pierce plays him in the film and I think it's just a really interesting. I think sometimes you have to stop and you have to go back to sort of the genesis of something. You have to go back to the beginning to see how you got to where. So it's really important to sort of park that opinion at the door to see what the film investigates about the beginning of that of the newspaper. And I play as a fictional character, but she's because there were no female editors in newspapers that time. It was very much a, you know, a boys club. It was very, very hard to get into journalism as a woman, but my character is sort of a malgommation of lots of sort of pioneering female editors who broke through somehow into news when it was completely dominated by men. So it's it's it's factual and it's also very, very fictional. But I think it's brilliant and it's also really funny and it's great. And it's but Danny Boyle directed it. Nuts. Like I said, the footage at CinemaCon looked fantastic. I got to stop with you guys. Just going to say again, I really love both of your work and you both are deliciously awful in this. Deliciously awful. Have a fantastic day with the rest of your speed dating. Thank you so much.
