Police identify vehicle of interest in fatal Cass County hit and run

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department has identified a vehicle of interest in a hit and run crash on May 24 that killed a Benton Harbor man. The department says deputies were called to the area of M-152 and Pleasant Street in Silver Creek Township that morning and learned 24-year-old Timothy Johnson had been struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Now the sheriff’s department says the vehicle of interest is a 2010 to 2012 black Ford Taurus. It says the vehicle should have significant driver’s side damage. The department goes on to say as of this Wednesday, it has not received the official autopsy report and that the incident is being investigated using the information and evidence collected. Anyone with information on the case, including the location of the suspect vehicle, is asked to contact police at 1-800-462-9328.
