SR37 interchange in Fishers open to traffic

Local and state officials, including Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness, Gov. Mike Braun and several Hamilton County Commissioners, gathered May 26 to officially open the 141st Street and Ind. 37 interchange. The newly opened interchange is the final component of the $180 million SR37 improvement project in Fishers, a multi-year effort to improve safety, mobility and connectivity along one of Hamilton County’s busiest transportation corridors, according to a city news release. The project replaced signaled intersections with grade-separated roundabout interchanges and allows traffic on SR 37 to move more freely while improving east-west connectivity. “This is truly a monumental day for Fishers, Hamilton County and everyone who travels the SR 37 corridor,” Fadness stated. “The citizens of Fishers and the thousands of others who drive this corridor daily have a safer, more efficient roadway to experience for the future.” The project was completed through a partnership between the City of Fishers, Hamilton County and the State of Indiana, with the City of Fishers overseeing project administration and construction coordination. “Today marks a major milestone for Fishers and Hamilton County as we celebrate the completion of the State Road 37 improvement project,” Braun stated. “This transformative investment will improve the flow of traffic for residents, businesses and visitors for years to come.” Hamilton County Commissioner Mark Heirbrandt stated that affected local businesses were kept informed throughout the project. “As we see this project completed we are grateful to the many businesses in this corridor, and the public for their cooperation and understanding throughout construction,” he stated. “This investment undoubtedly strengthens the SR37 corridor for decades to come.” Related posts: No related posts.
