It's a weird thing describing that as a profession, but as opposed to if you're going equipped and you're, you know, particularly very good at it. I suppose that becomes your profession. The police soon had the men surrounded, expecting the men to barricade inside. But instead, the two robbers swiftly exited the bank, spraying over 1,000 rounds at police. Over 44 minutes, in 2,000 rounds exchanged, the streets of North Hollywood turned in to a living hell. Oh my gosh. It's, I don't, this is a really conscious, not controversial, contradictory thing to say. I just, I don't associate Hollywood with, you know, with gun crime or gang crime. I think it's things like that. It naturally just assumes it's all, you know, glamorous and glitzy Hollywood. But LA, right? And I, I am aware of the crime right in LA. So I, it's completely contradictory, but I think it's just because it's called Hollywood. I just imagine it's all, you know, really glamorous, nothing goes wrong. Everything's really hunky-dory. Actors everywhere. The two gunmen behind the North Hollywood shootout first met at a golds gym in Venice Beach, California. Is this a really weird thing to say? But I did not expect the gunmen to look like this. Am I really weird for saying that? I know that's a really weird comment. I don't know what I imagined them to look like, but they're just young lads, right? The Balaclava's look a lot more threatening, but I just, I was not expecting the face underneath that mask to look so, I don't know, kind of childlike, you fool. Larry Phillips Jr., a Los Angeles native and proficient real estate scammer and a meal metasaurina, a Romanian immigrant in college graduate with an above average IQ. They were close in age and talked everything, weightlifting and bodybuilding, and whatever else the fuck Jim rats talk about, no chicken breasts, probably. Despite the contrast of their upbringing, the two quickly became close friends outside of the gym. They bonded over firearms, the lasophical ideas, they talked about their tough childhoods and their mutual hatred for authority as Larry Phillips Jr. grew up around an ex-convict father who struggled with the law. And... Oh, I was just gonna say, this is literally just the case of two fanatics or extremists, just finding each other. A little bromance going on there, finally found their long lost bestie and they bond over extreme ideals and philosophies. Kind of not nice, but kind of awe, I guess. Tassirina who grew up watching his home country of Romania violently collapse in 1989 on live TV. They were hatred for the world and the figures who ran it, ran deep. In October of 1993, the two found themselves in some serious trouble. When they were trafficked stopped by an undercover Gwendoel detective while operating a stolen rental car. When the detective made contact with the vehicle, Phillips gave the officer a fake name. He then asked the men who the vehicle belonged to to which Tassirina replied that the vehicle belonged to Phillips's mother. And after making checks, the detective ordered Phillips to step out of his vehicle at which point the detective located the Glock 17 with a 33 round extended magazine in Phillips's waistband. Tassirina is still inside the vehicle, then tucked his pistol beneath the seat. Back up arrived and both men were taken into custody. The vehicle was seized in a laundry list of weapons and suspicious items were recovered from within ranging from a nirinko 1700 rounds of 762. Three Chinese made 75 round drum magazines, six smoke bombs, two IEDs, a gas mask, wigs, three different California license plates and two spray cans of gray hair coloring. That's right, these jokers were locked and loaded with some just ferment. Now it's a party. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. That's too young to be going gray. What? That's a really weird thing to have. OK. Three Phillips was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, grand theft auto, unlawful weapons activity, carrying a loaded and concealed firearm and felony perjury on December 27th. Both men were only sentenced to less than one year in jail. You'd think, maybe this is a naive thought. I don't know, like two men that have bonded over quite extreme ideals, I imagine, firearms and whatnot.
