The three men left the apartment to commit a burglary. Taylor was armed with a .38 caliber revolver. The men first burglarized the apartment of Jacola Searsbrook, where they stole several items, including a four-door silver Chrysler Sebring. Searsbrook and her three daughters were asleep in the apartment at the time.
