The meeting concerned a $400 drug debt Ealy owed Pollard for heroin. Ealy had informed Pollard that he did not have the money yet, but Pollard insisted on meeting Ealy. The meeting took place in the evening. Pollard drove to the liquor store and told Ealy to get in the car. Pollard appeared to be angry.
