On the evening of May 28, 2023, eighteen-year-old Johnson was at a campfire

and J.P.’s brother, H.P., were also there.
Over the course of the evening, the group drank beers, smoked marijuana, and
took turns firing a gun Johnson brought to the campfire. Johnson had recently
