Jared Hyde (Putnam County sheriff)
A Putnam County man has been sentenced to a total of eight years in the Missouri Department of Corrections following convictions in a felony domestic assault case and a felony motor vehicle theft case in Putnam County Circuit Court.
Court records show Jared James Hyde, 25, of Boone, Iowa, was sentenced May 20 by Judge Matthew Krohn in the 3rd Judicial Circuit Court in Putnam County.
The judgment followed a jury verdict issued April 8, 2026, in connection with two charges filed from a July 20, 2024, incident.
On the first count, Hyde was convicted of second-degree domestic assault, a felony offense under Missouri law. The court imposed a four-year prison sentence.
On the second count, Hyde was convicted of stealing a motor vehicle, watercraft, or aircraft, also a felony offense. The court imposed an additional four-year prison sentence.
The court ordered the sentences to be served consecutively, resulting in a combined prison term of eight years.
According to the judgment, Hyde will receive credit for 22 days already served in prison, jail, or custody before conviction.
The court also entered judgment against Hyde for a $46 payment to the Missouri Crime Victims Compensation Fund, along with court costs assessed against the defendant.
