Restored Supercross Footage: Hurricane Hannah and More [25:07-30:10]

Kenny Kalen is number 37, he's way back there. Lachine is stretching out his lead and riding flawlessly. White flag out for the last rider, checker flag out for Ron Lachine, he's going to fly across in style. And the checker flag goes to Ron Lachine winning Heat Number One here at Anaheim. And now he goes over to the track side announcer to tell the crowd exactly how tough it really was. Lachine leading an easy victory, second place, teammate David Bailey on Ahonda. Kenny Kalen on a Yamaha in third place, those three transferred to the main event, third place, Clan Hardock, fourth place, Eric Eaton. Now the start of Heat Race, number two, look to the right of Castro's start gate, rider number 10 and rider number 25, Alan King and Bob Hanna, they go down in a crashing bird sequence you're going to love. That's Bob Hanna clutching his left arm, pulls out the foot peg, it looks like he's injured too, but both King and Hanna get up and going, this is Heat Race number two, in the lead, that's Mark Barnett. Number nine on the Kawasaki and right behind him, go Brecker number eight, also on the Kawasaki, into the turn, hey down in front, turkey, that's Mark the Bomber Barnett leading go Brecker and Jojo Keller number 55 on Ahonda, Jojo's in third place, Alan King and Bob Hanna are up and riding and they are way back in the pack but they are coming on strong. Right now it is the Bomber show, Mark the Bomber Barnett from Lollie, Alabama, his hobby is his relaxation, he loves hunting, racquetball and listening to music, the music of a screaming Kawasaki 250 CC motocross machine and he's putting it through its paces right now, stretching out a big lead. The Bomber up and over the tabletop and a couple more loops, making it look easy. The Bomber Barnett number nine on the Kawasaki, a good size lead for Barnett, go Brecker number eight on the Kawasaki and second, Jojo Keller number 55 on Ahonda in third and moving up into fifth place now, Alan King number 10 on the Kawasaki, King with a disastrous start who crashed with Bob Hanna, Hanna now is in eighth place. The final result is in heat number two, Mark Barnett, go Brecker and Jojo Keller, one, two, three advancing into the main event, Alan King are remarkable fourth place and believe it or not, Bob Hanna made it into sixth place, Markable whole shot by Scott Bernworth, number 39 in the Yellow Suzuki, followed closely by Jeff Ward, number two, the Flying Freckle comes out of head right behind the tabletop, Jeff Ward now stretching out his lead in the very first lap, Jeff Ward with a partisan crowd here at Anaheim, he lives in Mission Viejo, California, the Flying Freckle is going all out, nice squares off the turn, gets a little wide there, look at him handle the whoops just flying over the course, the crowd is going crazy, they want Jeff Ward to win, he would be considered local here, second place, Scott Bernworth, Keith Bowen is doing a great job, number 14 on the Yamaha, in fact there's Mickey Diamond and AJ Whitey, but it's Jeff Ward's race here in heat number three at Anaheim, you can't let these supercross tracks intimidate you, or the other riders, you've got to jump everything that's out there, you've got to go all out all the time, the green flag for the green machine, flying Jeff Ward, his thought on going all out all the time, you got to get out there and jump everything that's been jumped, that somebody has done before you, so you don't go into the main or your qualifier, all nervous about doing it, you can be confident and also going at a race pace and practice, so you know what it's like when you get out there, your body's familiar with the bumps on the track of that speed, and a race pace he does go out, full throttle, most of the time, Jeff Ward the flying freckle, taking home the green machine to a first place here in heat number three at Anaheim, picking the right line, keeping his cool, not making any mistakes, Jeff Ward receiving the checker flag from Ron Grandle and wins, heat number three here at Anaheim, second place, Keith Bowen aboard the Yamaha, third place, Scott Bernworth on a Suzuki, those three riders advanced to the main, Mickey Diamond aboard his Husk of Arna, places fourth, AJ Whiting on the Suzuki fifth place, in heat number four, a star studded event with Ricky Johnson, Brock Glover, Johnny O'Mara, Jeff Hicks, Jim Hawley, it looked like it was going to be a great race, but it was a roundy round with Rick Johnson leading the crowd, teammate Brock Glover following close behind, but never gaining control of the race, Glover and Johnson stayed out in front, Johnny O'Mara was in third the whole race, the teammates Ricky Johnson and Brock Glover receiving the white flag one lap to go, first three riders advanced into the main event, the only reason
