Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``GME Transparency Act of 2026''. SEC. 2. REQUIRING HOSPITALS RECEIVING PAYMENT FOR DIRECT GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION COSTS UNDER MEDICARE TO REPORT ON CITIZENSHIP STATUS OF RESIDENTS. (a) In General.--Section 1886(h) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395ww(h)) is amended-- (1) in paragraph (5)(A), by adding at the end the following new sentence: ``Such term does not include any residency or other postgraduate medical training program of a hospital that does not submit to the Secretary the information required under paragraph (11)(A) in accordance with such paragraph.''; and (2
