Recounts requested in Indiana primaries

ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Recounts in two Indiana Senate primaries are being requested. Paula Copenhaver trails Senator Spencer Deery by just three votes in the Republican primary in Senate District 23. In District 15, Darren Vogt filed a recount petition yesterday as he trails Senator Liz Brown by 15 votes. Copenhaver was endorsed by President Trump as he sought to oust all Republican senators who opposed his plan to redraw all of Indiana’s U.S. House districts for this election. Trump, however, backed Brown in her reelection bid in Allen County. Ewelina Connolly has also requested a recount in her Allen County Commissioner’s race after a 65-vote margin. The following was released: The Election Board has been notified that 2 recounts have been filed. One at the State level for Senate15 (Vogt v Brown). A recount petition was filed with the Allen County Clerk of Courts for Commissioner 3 (Connolly v Moss) . At this time, we have not been served with any documents. We are not sure how long the recount process will take, when it will take place or the details of process of the recount. Not sure on the cost of the recount but it will be paid by the candidate who filed the recount. As soon as we have more details, another release will be sent.
