McCarthy was apprehended by GPD officers shortly after the alleged crimes and, because of the injuries McCarthy sustained during his apprehension, he was transported from Johnson County to Eskenazi accompanied by an officer from the GPD. While at the hospital, McCarthy was taken into custody and arrested by an IMPD officer for an active warrant out of Marion County.
